Welcome to Johns Creek, Georgia. According to a recent ranking of the top 10 suburbs by Travel + Leisure, this suburb takes the crown of being ranked the best suburb in the entire country. The metrics come from an analysis of realtor feedback surveys and recent livability rankings.
Johns Creek is located north of Atlanta and is already no stranger to accolades. It is often already ranked one of the best communities in the area according to Forbes. But it’s not the wealthy aspect of it alone that draws this positive attention. It is the great schools, low crime rates, and access to some of the most lovely outdoor activities nearby such as the Chattahoochee River. For many families in the Atlanta region, it has become an attractive option to raise their families.
According to Jessica Watson, senior vice president at Harry Normal Realtors, speaking to Travel + Leisure, says it anticipates expanding the area by developing Town Center — a massive 192 acres of residential and businesses which will further improve lifestyle offerings at Johns Creek.
The median household income in this neighborhood is $130,000, and the median home value is just above $700,000.
According to research from Johns Hopkins University, more than half of Americans live in some sort of suburb. They choose to live there for a variety of reasons, such as a safer area, more bang for the buck, and a slower pace and lifestyle. Johns Creek, which has a population of 86,000, has been seeing a population increase and expects to see even further growth in the coming years.
Other suburbs that made the list include #2 Cinco Ranch, Texas; #3 Okemos, Michigan; #4 North Bethesda, Maryland, and #5 Coppell, Texas.
