For those looking to go to Europe, your options have (potentially) expanded.
American Airlines has announced that they have now added more routes to Europe from the United States. These routes will officially begin operation in March of 2025. The first route will connect Chicago’s O’Hare Airport with Madrid. The second line will see Philadelphia link with both Edinburgh and Milan. Then on June 5th, lines from Charlotte to Athens will officially begin operation. Lastly, in July 2025, Miami to Rome will also start up.
Tickets for these new routes will be available beginning September this year.
American Airlines released an official statement following the announcement:
“We look forward to providing customers more ways to visit their favorite destinations in Europe next summer,” said Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning. “Resuming service to Edinburgh and adding new routes to other popular destinations across the continent will offer customers convenient access from American’s industry-leading domestic network to all that Europe has to offer.”
It will be the first time American Airlines has served Edinburgh since 2019, since the airline scrapped their routes after it retired a line of aircrafts prior to the pandemic.
It isn’t the only expansions American is planning on.
Visitors wishing to visit Paris are in luck, as routes to the French capital are now extended through winter season from Miami. There will also routes from Dallas to Barcelona, and from Philadelphia to Athens and Naples. Additionally, the Madrid route will also treat visitors to access to several other destinations throughout Europe, such as Ibiza and Porto.
“We’re seeing a lot of success in these core markets,” Znotins went on to say.
